The live-action film “The Fullmetal Alchemist“(鋼の錬金術師) by Arakawa Hiromu was decided on October 25 as an opening screening work of the 30th Tokyo International Film Festival to be held in Tokyo · Roppongi Hills, EX THEATER ROPPONGI etc.
The Tokyo International Film Festival has been trying to promote Asian film industry and culture as the only international film festival in Japan recognized by the International Film Producers Federation. Japanese movies will be screened in the opening work for the first time in ten years, and it will be the first time in the history of Japanese original manga movies.
“The Fullmetal Alchemist” is a work that widely expands the possibilities for Japanese movies towards the world. This piece is a highly complete image that could not be imaged until now I think that it is a big branch point that proves that you can visualize the pop culture of manga and animation consisting of stories and the world view with their own hands and make a big message to the world. Director Sogori Fumihiko (曽利文彦)is sincerely hoping that as one piece of the latest work of the Japanese film, I can broadly appeal Japanese content power and quality of Japanese film and technology to domestic as well as overseas people.”
